Dr. Richard New is a Board Certified Psychiatrist who received his medical degree from Loyola University at the Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois. He completed his residencies in Psychiatry in 1998, which included residency training in Internal Medicine and Neurology.
He began his career at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska. Since then, Dr. New has served as a psychiatrist for a variety of institutions and hospitals, including Portneuf Medical Center, Mountain View Hospital, and Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He has provided several presentations on such topics as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, addiction, and Alzheimer’s disease, with his most recent presentation being the topic of suicide prevention.
Currently Dr. New has his own practice, Pinnacle Health Systems, here in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He provides psychiatric services to Innovative Health Care for Medicaid funded participants. In his spare time, Dr. New enjoys fly fishing and kayaking.
